Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) invites a capable professional to join the Data Business team. You will contribute to shaping the index product strategy and drive project implementation to deliver differentiated index solutions aligned with HKEX’s growth objectives.

The role requires leading quantitative research, evaluating models, and coordinating across IT, Product, Sales and Operations to ensure successful launches and market insights.

Qualifications

• Relevant university degree or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in financial markets, experience from Index/ETF businesses, asset management, quantitative research and/or product development is preferable.
• Exposure to Hong Kong, China and APAC financial markets; good understanding of investment strategies and portfolio construction.
• Demonstrate good understanding of programming languages and tools, third party vendor products.
• A self-starter with an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset and high agility.
• Strong analytical, collaboration, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative research and development of new index strategies for benchmarks and investible products across Hong Kong and global markets.
• Develop and enhance index methodologies by evaluating new models and ideas, back-testing and performance analyses.
• Understand client needs and market trends to design relevant index products.
• Drive automation of workflows and analytical tool integration to enhance research capabilities.
• Oversee index build efforts and coordinate across teams and vendors.
• Lead new product lifecycle workstreams to ensure timely launches and content creation.
• Promote new capabilities across asset classes and develop market intelligence.
• Create presentations and papers to gain support and investment in product initiatives.
• Collaborate across IT, Product, Sales, and Operations.
