Gravitas Recruitment Group (Global) Ltd seeks an Associate/AVP, System Engineer to administer Linux/Windows Server environments and manage middleware such as WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache, Nginx, and MQ. You will develop automation with Shell, Python, and Ansible and support capacity, security, and DR planning.

The role emphasizes incident handling, monitoring, and governance with rotational on-call involvement in a dynamic investment banking setting in Hong Kong.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in system administration, infrastructure engineering, or middleware support.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.
• Solid knowledge of middleware technologies including WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache, Nginx, and MQ.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Shell, Python, and Ansible.
• Familiarity with monitoring solutions (e.g. SolarWinds, Zabbix) and centralized logging platforms.
• Exposure to virtualization, cloud, and container technologies, including VMware, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Good understanding of networking and security concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls, Load Balancers, SSL/TLS, and IAM.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Linux and Windows Server environments, ensuring system stability, security, and availability.
• Manage middleware platforms including WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache, Nginx, and MQ, covering deployment, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Develop automation tools and scripts using Shell, Python, and Ansible to improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and optimize infrastructure resources.
• Support incident management, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with infrastructure standards, security policies, and technology governance requirements.
• Participate in rotational on-call support for critical production incidents.
