Job summary

STMicroelectronics Asia Pacific Pte Ltd in Hong Kong seeks an Automation Engineer to design and implement next-generation automation systems that bridge hardware and software with AI-powered reasoning and real-time data pipelines.

You will architect resilient, scalable ecosystems, develop dashboards for KPI monitoring, and lead predictive maintenance initiatives to minimize downtime while expanding automation across plant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or C/C++.
• Strong systems thinking skills and ability to analyze component interactions within a larger system.
• Ability to balance short-term fixes with long-term holistic outcomes.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture: Design and deploy end-to-end automation frameworks integrating PLC and IIoT.
• AI & Agentic Integration: Orchestrate AI agents with existing tools to automate routine tasks.
• Develop and maintain automated devices for machine/process monitoring including KPI dashboards.
• Predictive Maintenance: Implement ML-based monitoring to detect anomalies and reduce downtime.
