We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our Institutional Client Group (ICG) team as an Associate.

The ICGteam in Hong Kong is a growing and exciting segment within HSBC. We are a product agnostic group in charge of managing the relationship with our clients, understanding their needs, their industry trends and ensuring HSBC supports them in achieving their financial objectives. The ICG team covers a wide array of institutional clients including Banks, Insurers, Sponsors, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Asset Managers, Hedge funds and Public Sector

In this role your main responsibilities will include:

• Market intelligence and proposals: Undertake the preparation of relevant analysis, proposals, credit applications and reviews as required
• Client service excellence: Ensure prompt and appropriate response to customer enquiries and concerns by liaising with product and support teams
• Stakeholder collaboration: Provide assistance to coverage team members. Liaise with regional counterparts acting as central point of contact for local matters. Collaborate with internal stakeholders including product partners
• Portfolio management: Contribute to the compilation and implementation of individual client plans to enhance regional and local returns. Contribute to the revenue growth in the portfolio
• Risk, conduct and controls: Act as a First Line of Defence by proactively managing credit, financial crime, client due diligence, conduct and reputational risks, while ensuring compliance with all relevant internal and external requirements

To be successful you will need:

• Knowledge of the industry and exposure to financial clients
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Preferably knowledge of HSBC Group and products coupled with a strong network of contacts across business areas
• Language skills: Mandarin a must as well asCantonese andfluency in English
• Advanced understanding of risk management, risk mitigation and Client Due Diligence risks
• Excellent team player with a proactive approach and strong interpersonal, sales and communication skills
• Highly motivated, eager to accept new challenges and able to work under pressure
• The ability to form effective relationships and exercise influence at the most senior level of the organization, both internally and externally
• A strong understanding of risk management and risk mitigation
• Uphold the highest level of integrity and act as a role model for all HSBC values and business principles
