Job summary

HSBC is seeking a capable Associate for Hong Kong Coverage in Capital Markets and Advisory. You will work with senior bankers to originate and execute IPOs and M&A, build robust financial models, and conduct market research. You will prepare presentations, interact with clients and management, and contribute to revenue and strategy targets.

The role also involves mentoring junior staff and supporting deal execution in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of Investment Banking/Corporate Finance experience.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
• Knowledge of financial modelling, valuation and accounting.
• Understanding of the financial markets.
• Experience in equity, equity-linked, and private market M&A transaction execution and origination.
• Highly motivated and eager to learn new capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior investment banking officers and professionals in originating and executing IPO, M&A and other equity/equity-linked transactions.
• Develop company valuations and create/analyse financial models, perform sector and company research, and conduct financing, comparative and pro forma analyses.
• Prepare new business presentations and draft memoranda related to marketing and execution; attend client presentations as required.
• Interact with clients and management; act as an integral part of the engagement team.
• Contribute to revenue targets and product alignment; boost customer satisfaction.
• Lead and mentor junior investment banking talent.
