Responsibilities
- Define and own the Target Enterprise Data Architecture, including canonical data models, master data strategy, and data domains
- Establish architectural principles such as a single version of truth and domain-based data ownership
- Ensure data architecture supports HKMA, IFRS, Basel, liquidity, and risk reporting, enabling end-to-end data lineage
- Partner with Risk, Finance, and Compliance teams to reduce manual reconciliations and improve auditability of numbers
- Define and implement a Data Governance Framework, including the establishment of data quality rules, KPIs, and business glossaries
- Define data platform strategies for ingestion, storage (warehouse/lakehouse), and exposure to consumers via APIs and reporting tools
- Act as a bridge between IT, Data, Risk, Finance, and Business, and produce board- and regulator-ready materials
- Lead and mentor a team of architects, analysts, and data engineers
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in data architecture, data platforms, or enterprise architecture in the banking industry
- Strong banking domain experience, particularly in core banking data and regulatory reporting
- Proven experience designing enterprise data architectures for banks or regulated financial institutions
- Technical proficiency in enterprise data modelling, metadata management, ETL/ELT patterns, and cloud/hybrid architectures
- Deep understanding of data ownership models and regulatory expectations around data accuracy and traceability
- Experience supporting audits, internal risk reviews, or regulatory exams
- Excellent executive-level communication, documentation, and storytelling skills
- Ability to diplomatically challenge legacy architectures and operate in complex, federated organisations
- Strong analytical skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese
