Job summary

The Chinese Temples Committee is seeking an Assistant Manager (Promotion) to lead promotion strategies, uplift the Committee's image, and promote traditional Chinese culture at its temples. The role requires a bachelor’s degree, strong bilingual skills in English and Chinese, and at least five years in marketing and event management with supervisory experience.

Willingness to work overtime and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Level 2 or equivalent in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE (or equivalent).
  • Qualification in communication, PR, event management, marketing or advertising is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years’ full-time post-qualification experience in marketing and event management with not less than 3 years’ supervisory experience.
  • Experience in Chinese cultural promotion or familiarity with Chinese customs and local traditions preferred.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chinese word processing, Photoshop, Illustrator and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Good command of both written and oral English and Chinese.
  • Government/public organization experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in large-scale events, campaigns, advertising, digital marketing (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) is an advantage.
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

  • To assist deputy manager in planning the promotion strategy and promoting Chinese culture.
  • To handle promotion events including ritual ceremonies and festive arrangements; monitor donations.
  • To manage applications for film shooting in CTC temples, workshops and seminars.
  • To design and create digital marketing content; execute promotion and publicity events.
  • To supervise subordinates delivering daily promotion work and manage audiences on social media.
  • To liaise with government departments, organizations and contractors.
  • To prepare committee papers and correspondences on promotion and culture matters.
  • To perform other duties assigned by senior officers.

Job description

The Chinese Temples Committee (the Committee) is a statutory body established in 1928 under the Chinese Temples Ordinance (Chapter 153). Its key responsibilities include administration of 24 temples and promotion of traditional temple culture. It also provides funds to support customary temple ceremonies, repair works to Chinese temples and various charitable community projects. Assistant Manager (Promotion)

Salary: HK$35,780

Entry Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline;

Level 2 or equivalent or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent【See Note (1)】(please provide details of the public examination results obtained);

Qualification in the field of communication, public relation, event management, marketing or advertising is an advantage;

At least 5 years’ full-time post-qualification working experience in marketing and event management with not less than 3 years’ experience in supervisory grade;

Candidates with experience in Chinese cultural promotion or be familiar with Chinese customs and local traditions preferred;

Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chinese word processing, Photoshop, Illustrator and DaVinci Resolve;

Good command of both written and oral English and Chinese;

Previous working experience in government / quasi-government / public organization is an advantage;

Experience in organizing large-scale events / campaign and promotional activities, advertising, digital marketing (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) is an advantage; and

Willing to work overtime, on weekends and public holiday as required.

General Note:

For appointment purpose, Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 2 respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth; Level 1 in the Use of Chinese and Use of English papers of the Common Recruitment Examination are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 4 in Chinese Language and English Languageof the HKDSEE.

Candidate must be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

Where a large number of candidates meet the specified entry requirements, the Committee may devise shortlisting criteria to select the better qualified candidates for further processing. In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend selection interview.

MajorJob Duties:

To assist deputy manager in planning the promotion strategy with the aim to uplifting the image of CTC and promoting Chinese culture;

To handle matters relating to the promotion events including the ritual ceremonies and provide support for festive arrangement including monitor donation collection;

To handle matters relating to applications for film shooting in the CTC-administered temples, workshops, seminars, etc;

To design and create digital marketing content; execute the promotion and publicity events;

To supervise subordinates in delivering daily promotion works, including managing, updating and interacting with audiences on social media channels;

To liaise with various parties, government departments, organizations and contractors, etc.;

To prepare committee papers and correspondences on matters relating to promotion and culture; and

To perform any other duties assigned by senior officers.

Terms of Appointment:

This vacancy is a post on the Secretariat’s establishment. Salary of the position will be remunerated and subject to annual increment where applicable with reference to the Master Pay Scale of the Civil Service. It may also be subject to Civil Service pay adjustment. The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule. Upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance, the appointe will be granted a gratuity for the period of service. Such gratuity, plus any contribution by the Employer to the MPF scheme in respect of the appointe as required by the MPF Scheme Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Other fringe benefits include 18 days annual leave.
