Job summary

Generali Life (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking an Assistant Manager, Data Engineering and AI (Insurance) to lead and shape data and AI initiatives across the business. You will collaborate with IT and business units to deliver scalable data platforms and AI solutions for insurance processes.

The role requires six years of enterprise data/AI delivery, strong governance, and hands-on data warehousing and cloud experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience delivering enterprise-level Data and AI solutions, technology transformation projects, or solution architecture initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of banking and/or insurance business processes, systems, and regulatory considerations.
  • Hands-on knowledge of data warehouse concepts, AI technologies, data platforms, and modern analytics solutions.
  • Good understanding of cloud service models (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS).
  • Knowledge of data governance principles, metadata management and data lifecycle management.
  • Experience with data management tools, data cleansing, quality control, and governance implementation.
  • Experience in project management, solution architecture design, and software delivery methodologies (TDD, BDD, DDD, Agile).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across business units and IT.
  • Experience with IT budget planning, tracking, or cost management is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Support business and technology transformation initiatives with a focus on Data and AI solutions

Evaluate, recommend, and onboard appropriate Data and AI technologies, platforms, and architectural approaches, considering business benefits, total cost of ownership, scalability, ease of management, and long-term sustainability

Define and maintain data and AI architectural models, standards, and best practices to ensure alignment with IT strategy, business objectives, and enterprise governance requirements

Plan, develop, manage, and deliver technology enablement projects and proofs of concept, ensuring successful implementation within agreed timelines, budgets, and expected business outcomes

Collaborate with business units, IT teams, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for applying data, AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve business processes and decision-making

Manage assigned projects, ad hoc initiatives, and other responsibilities as directed by the Supervisor or Head of IT

Support IT budget planning, monitoring, and related administrative matters

Key Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

Minimum 6 years of experience in delivering enterprise-level Data and AI solutions, technology transformation projects, or solution architecture initiatives

Solid understanding of banking and/or insurance business processes, systems, and regulatory considerations

Hands‑on knowledge of data warehouse concepts, AI technologies, data platforms, and modern analytics solutions

Good understanding of cloud service models, including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS

Knowledge of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices, including data quality, metadata management, and data lifecycle management

Experience with data management tools and processes, including data cleansing, quality control, metadata management, and governance implementation

Experience in project management, solution architecture design, and software delivery methodologies such as TDD, BDD, DDD, Agile, or other relevant development approaches

Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across business units, back-office functions, and IT teams.

Previous experience in IT budget planning, tracking, or cost management is an advantage.

Self‑motivated, analytical, and business‑oriented, with a strong interest in applying Data and AI to solve practical business challenges
