A leading shipping company in Hong Kong is seeking an Assistant Manager – Accounts Receivable. The role involves providing support to Regional offices on AR operational matters and ensuring compliance with credit policies. The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Accounting, at least 5 years of experience, and proficiency in SAP and Excel automation. Strong communication skills in English and Putonghua are essential. This position offers exposure to various AR projects and high-level management tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ work experience in the Accounting field.
• Experience in system automation projects, handling UAT independently.
• Fast learner, able to navigate through various systems.

Position

Assistant Manager – Accounts Receivable

Job Location

Hong Kong Office

Accountabilities

• Provide day‑to‑day advice and support to the Regional offices on AR operational matters (including system logic/usage; invoicing issues; bad debt applications, credit applications, etc.)
• Monitor the collection progress of Regional offices to ensure global AR KPIs are achieved
• Produce timely and accurate AR performance evaluation, statistic reports and analysis for Management
• Assist the supervisor to ensure compliance of policies and procedures in all Region offices in relation to Credit Policy and Control Procedures
• Provide system support and handle ad‑hoc requests from Regional offices and third‑party agents
• Assist on system implementation/enhancement of various AR projects
• Manage and analyse large data sets using advanced Excel functions and tools to support management’s decision‑making process
• Coach Regional teams, and train, guide and work closely with financial centres in China

Requirements

• University graduate in Accounting or related discipline
• Qualified accountant or have passed all qualified accountant examinations
• Min. 5 years’ work experience in the Accounting field
• Experience in system automation projects, able to provide user requirements and handle UAT independently
• Experience in SAP is preferable
• Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data handling and analysis
• Mature, self‑motivated, deadline‑driven and comfortable working under pressure and tight deadlines
• Excellent communication, organisational, analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Putonghua
• Proficiency in excel automation, including macros and VBA, to streamline and optimise data processing tasks is an advantage
• Fast learner, able to navigate through various systems
