Job summary

John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited is seeking an Assistant Coxswain to support navigation, vessel operation, and guest experiences on our pleasure vessels and water sports activities in Hong Kong.

You will assist the Coxswain, monitor maintenance, manage catering provisions, and ensure safety while working flexible hours, including holidays and nights. Proficiency in English and Chinese is required; Putonghua is a plus.

Qualifications

• Form 3 education or above.
• Pleasure Vessel Operator Certificate of Competence (Grade II).
• 1–3 years relevant experience handling twin screw motor vessel and speedboats.
• Good knowledge of vessel maintenance.
• Familiarity with Hong Kong waters and related regulations.
• Knowledge in vessel control systems; radio knowledge is a plus.
• Mature, self-motivated with a pleasant personality.
• Working level of English and Chinese; Putonghua desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Coxswain to navigate and steer vessels and speedboats safely.
• Provide quality cruising and catering services to guests; work flexible hours, including holidays and nights.
• Monitor maintenance activities and report defects or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the vessel and speedboat.
• Manage inventory of food & beverages and provisions.
• Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by supervisor.

The Assistant Coxswain supports the Coxswain to deliver safe, smooth, and enjoyable on-water guest experiences by assisting management and operation of the pleasure vessel, speedboat and water sports activities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Coxswain to navigate and steer vessels and speedboats in a safe and efficient manner
• Provide quality cruising and catering services to guests and work flexible hours as required, including public holidays and nighttime
• Monitor maintenance activities and report damage, defects or safety concerns promptly
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the vessel and speedboat
• Manage inventory of food & beverage and provisions
• Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by supervisor

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Form 3 education or above
• Pleasure Vessel Operator Certificate of Competence (Grade II) or equivalent
• 1 – 3 years relevant experience of handling twin screw motor vessel and driving speedboats for watersports
• Good knowledge of vessel maintenance and familiarity with Hong Kong waters and related regulations
• Knowledge in vessel control systems, use of rador and/or marine radio is a plus
• Mature and self-motivated with a pleasant personality
• Working level of spoken and written English and Chinese. Putonghua is desirable
