Job summary

Sportshouse Limited in Hong Kong is seeking a Buying Manager to drive product selections and supplier partnerships for our sportswear range. You will lead negotiations on terms, promotions and margin optimization while overseeing stock levels and market analysis to stay ahead of trends.

The role requires a strong background in retail buying, Cantonese fluency with English/Mandarin, and proven ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Qualifications

• University graduates in related disciplines.
• Experience in buying and category management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with suppliers to select product ranges and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Negotiate trading terms and marketing support with suppliers to optimize offerings and margins.
• Monitor brand sales, shop sales, product sell-through, margin and inventory levels.
• Conduct regular competitor and market analysis in sportswear.
• Lead team to achieve sales targets and align with market trends.
• Coordinate stock levels across stores and lead Open-to-Buy with teammates.

We are the sportswear wholesaler and retailer in Tsuen Wan. To cope with our business development, we are inviting dynamic & high caliber candidates to join our energetic team.

Responsibilities

• Work with suppliers to select appropriate product ranges and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
• Negotiations for trading terms and marketing support with suppliers for optimizing offerings, brand collaborations, and optimal gross profit margins
• Monitoring brands sales, shop sales, product sell-through, margin, and inventory level
• Conduct regular competitor and market analysis within the sportswear landscape
• Have strong understanding of sportswear and running brands/products
• Lead his/her team to achieve company objectives/sales targets and aligned market trends
• Work with teammates to ensure appropriate stock levels across stores
• Lead the Open-to-Buy process in collaboration with teammates for ordering
• Work closely with retail Operations/VM/Marketing team to ensure product execution aligns with buying intentions

Requirements

• University graduates in related disciplines
• 7 years’ experience in buying and category management preferably gained from Sportswear
• Experience in retail buying and management
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Fluent in Cantonese; good command of English and Mandarin
• Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Candidates with more experience may be considered as Buying Manager
