Job summary

Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited in Hong Kong seeks an experienced IT project leader to oversee delivery of large-scale banking applications. The role focuses on design, development and support of core systems and coordinating with users, vendors and developers.

You will manage cross-functional teams, apply both Waterfall and Agile Scrum methods, and navigate risks and changes while ensuring quality and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT, CS or related field.
• 5+ years of application development with 2+ years in project management.
• Experience with IBM mainframe z/OS, MVS, COBOL, VSAM, JCL and CICS.
• Familiar with payment, credit card and unsecured lending products.
• Knowledge of card schemes and inter-bank networks.
• Familiar with Waterfall or Agile Scrum.
• Proven track record leading banking projects.
• Bilingual in Chinese and English; Mandarin is an advantage.
• Leadership in remote development is a plus.

Job description

• Lead, manage and implement IT projects to ensure the timeliness and quality of deliverables.


• Responsible for system design, development and support of the application systems.


• Manage project processes, documentation, progress reporting, status meeting and escalation effectively.


• Work closely with users and vendors for system requirement analysis, effort estimation, design, development, implementation and testing on banking project.


• Identify dependencies and potential risks across project, take measure to resolve issues and mitigate risks.


• Manage change control in different stages throughout the project life cycle.


• Troubleshoot problems and propose the recommendation to resolve the issue, and liaise with developers on fixing and resolving technical issue.


• Liaison and coordinate effectively with both internal and external parties for system integration design.

Requirements:

• Degree or above with major in Information Technology, Computer Science or related disciplines.


• 5+ years of application development experience with 2+ years solid project management experience, with Payment Industrial experience is an advantage.


• Sound knowledge and solid experience in IBM mainframe system - z/OS, MVS, COBOL, VSAM, JCL, CICS.


• Familiar with payment, credit card and unsecured lending products and systems.


• Familiar with the interface or specification of card scheme or inter-bank network.


• Familiar with project management techniques and methods, preferably Waterfall, Agile Scrum.


• Proven track record of designing, running, and managing sizable banking projects is a plus.


• Strong presentation, negotiation, organization, analytical and problem solving skills.


• Able to work independently, under pressure and willing to learn.


• Self-motivated and adaptive to changes.


• Proficiency in both Chinese and English, Mandarin is an advantage.


• Leadership and experience in remote development is a plus.
