Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking a Research Lead in APAC to drive index research, design and analytics for FTSE Russell. You will lead projects, develop innovative index methodologies and tools, and translate investment concepts into robust index solutions for clients across asset classes.

The role requires strong quantitative investment expertise, Python/SQL proficiency, and experience in equity index construction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in quantitative investment research or index research
• Strong knowledge of portfolio construction, optimization and factor analysis
• Understanding of equity markets and index construction for benchmarking
• Experience translating research concepts into practical index solutions
• Strong programming with Python and SQL; MATLAB a plus
• Familiarity with pandas/NumPy and data visualization tools
• Experience with large financial datasets and scalable research workflows
• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the design and testing of new index methodologies
• Develop investment metrics and analytical frameworks for index design
• Conduct quantitative research across Asia Pacific markets
• Analyze portfolio impact of new concepts using rigorous methods
• Prepare research papers and presentations showcasing index properties
• Identify market trends and ideas for new index solutions
• Build analytics tools and production-ready research workflows
• Collaborate with Technology and other teams to deploy models
