Job summary

UBS AG is looking for an Executive Director – FX Strategy at the Chief Investment Office in Hong Kong. This influential role is focused on developing trade ideas and providing senior-level client engagement in the APAC region.

The ideal candidate must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 10–15 years of macro strategy or research experience, and advanced quantitative skills. This position also requires proficiency in Mandarin or another local language for effective presentations.

Qualifications

• Experience in research and price forecasting for gold, copper, and aluminum is a plus.

Role Overview

Executive Director – FX Strategy (APAC) at UBS Chief Investment Office (CIO) Global Wealth Management. This high‑impact role focuses on generating actionable trade ideas, taking investment positions, and representing UBS at major client events. The successful candidate will co‑cover APAC FX with the Head of APAC FX & Rates.

Responsibilities

• Cover the APAC FX strategy and engage on global macro and cross‑asset topics with sophisticated clients.
• Develop forecasts and trade recommendations for core APAC currencies (AUD, JPY, CNY, SGD) and broader Asian FX (NZD, MYR, THB, IDR, INR, PHP, TWD, KRW).
• Lead large events and address complex macro/cross‑asset questions, including G10 FX.
• Represent UBS at major client events and provide senior-level client engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accountancy or Quantitative Sciences (Master’s/CFA preferred).
• 10–15 years of experience in macro strategy, research or sales at a leading financial institution (buy‑side, sell‑side, PB).
• Experience in research and price forecasting for gold, copper, and aluminum is a plus.
• Advanced use of CEIC, Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg and strong quantitative modeling skills; ability to leverage AI tools to enhance research workflows.
• Confident public speaker; proficiency in Mandarin or another local language for technical presentations and client meetings is an advantage.
• Comfortable working in an international, matrixed team.
