Haitong International Securities Group Limited is seeking a fixed income trader in Hong Kong to execute trades across government bonds, corporates, and rates products. You will manage liquidity, monitor market movements, and collaborate with portfolio managers and back office to optimize trading performance and risk-adjusted returns.
The role requires 2–3 years of relevant experience, SFC Type 9 qualification, and fluency in English and Putonghua.
Job Summary: The ideal candidate will execute trades across a range of fixed income products, manage day-to-day liquidity, monitor market movements, and support the desk in optimizing trading performance and risk-adjusted returns. You will work closely with portfolio managers and middle/back office functions to ensure efficient trade execution, compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and accurate trade capture.
Job Duties:
Assist investment team / fund managers to execute the trading instruction efficiently and accurately.
Execute orders across government bonds, corporate credit, money market instruments, interest rate swaps, and repo products in accordance with desk strategy and risk limits.
Monitor global macro and key market movements, prepare daily market commentary and provide strategic recommendation to investment team / fund managers for consideration.
Perform trading system testing and maintenance.
Assist in completing the relevant trading procedure according to relevant rules and policies.
Perform broker review and commission review.
Requirements:
Degree holder in Business, Finance or related discipline.
2 – 3 years of proven experience as a fixed income trader on a buy-side or sell-side desk, with direct execution experience in cash bonds and/or rates products is highly preferred.
Solid understanding of fixed income products, pricing mechanics, and hedging principles. Good knowledge of fixed income market structure, clearing and settlement processes across major global markets.
Familiar with mainstream trading system, proficient in Excel, VBA and Python is a plus.
Qualified to be registered under SFC in relevant regulated activities. Licensed for Type 9 is required.
Have strong sense of compliance and self-discipline.
A good team player, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good command in spoken and written English and Chinese including fluency in Putonghua.
