Job summary

HKT is seeking an experienced Automation Platform Engineer to design, develop and maintain AI agents and automation workflows that support a range of use cases. You will write production-quality Python code for automation scripts, integrations and data pipelines connecting AI agents with enterprise systems.

You will apply AI knowledge, including LLMs, prompt engineering, agent frameworks, and AI platforms, to evaluate and deliver practical automation solutions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience in software development or automation engineering.
• Experience with AI/GenAI technologies and agent frameworks.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online).
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes and Ansible is advantageous.

Job description

• Design, develop and maintain AI agents and automation workflows that support use cases.
• Write and maintain production-quality Python code for automation scripts, integrations, and data pipelines connecting AI agents with enterprise systems.
• Apply AI knowledge (LLMs, prompt engineering, agent frameworks, and applicable Microsoft/Anthropic/Google AI platforms) to evaluate and deliver practical automation and AI use cases.
• Experience on Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID, and related M365 workloads.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks/roles using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform for repeatable infrastructure operations (e.g., patching, health-information collection, disaster-recovery automation).
• Own end-to-end software deployment activities, including build/release pipelines, environment promotion, configuration management, and post-deployment validation.
• Integrate automation and AI agents with key systems, security tools and management tools.

Operations & Governance

• Prepare and execute change-management activities, including risk/impact assessments, testing plans and post-implementation validation.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks and operational procedures to support service continuity, knowledge transfer and audit requirements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional technical teams (Infrastructure, Linux/Kubernetes, M365, Security Operations) to ensure smooth delivery of automation initiatives.
• Communicate progress, risks and technical concepts clearly to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

To Succeed in this role:

• Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in software development, automation engineering, platform engineering, or Microsoft 365 administration within an enterprise IT environment.
• Strong hands-on programming skills in Python, including scripting, API integration and building automation tools.
• Practical knowledge of AI/GenAI technologies — such as LLMs, Copilot Studio, prompt engineering, or agent-based automation frameworks — and the ability to apply them to real operational use cases.
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift (or equivalent Kubernetes/container platforms), including deployment, configuration and lifecycle management; or Ansible (Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform) would be an advantage.
• Solid experience with software deployment / release management, including CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration and change execution.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• High proficiency in English; Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) is an advantage for local stakeholder engagement.
• Fresh graduates with basic knowledge on AI and a strong willingness to learn new AI tools will also be considered.
