Job summary

SCMP seeks an AI Engineer (Internal Automation) to transform internal operations into an AI-first ecosystem from our Causeway Bay office in Hong Kong. You will build practical GenAI solutions, prioritize efficiency, and improve enterprise decision-making and user experience.

You will gather requirements, prototype with LLMs and RAG, and integrate with enterprise data sources, while leading internal training to enable non-technical staff to adopt new AI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a highly quantitative/ technical discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of software engineering, data engineering, or systems automation experience with production-grade Generative AI apps (RAG, Agents).
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) and prompt strategy tuning.
• Familiarity with AI development frameworks and AI coding assistants is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Chinese; Putonghua preferred.

Responsibilities

• Requirement gathering and operational discovery with internal stakeholders.
• Agile prototyping using LLMs, multi-agent orchestration, and RAG to validate business value.
• Systems integration with enterprise databases and APIs using Python.
• Lead internal user enablement sessions and create user guides.
• Knowledge building and sharing on AI technologies for internal reference.
