Job summary

Wati is seeking an Agentic Engineer to build, scale, and support the backend systems powering our product experiences. You will develop backend services, APIs, business logic, and supporting infrastructure for reliable, secure, and scalable customer-facing capabilities.

You will work in an environment that uses AI agents and tools like Cursor daily, and you are expected to use these tools effectively to ship faster while maintaining high quality.

Qualifications

• Experience designing backend services and APIs.
• Familiar with AI-assisted development and scalable infra.
• Ability to own features end-to-end and collaborate with product teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Develop scalable logic, data flows, and service integrations.
• Build production-ready systems with Go, C#, Node.js, Python, and MongoDB.
• Use AI tools like Cursor to accelerate coding and delivery.
• Write clean, testable, and observable code with focus on performance.
• Investigate production issues and contribute to fixes and improvements.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers on designs.
• Improve engineering practices around code quality, release confidence, and service ownership.
• Ensure reliability and scalability for customers across 190+ countries.
