Job summary

  • Lead and empower a small administrative team to design, execute, and evaluate a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives and signature CEDARS events.
  • Conceptualize, launch, and manage new student engagement programmes and cross-sector collaborations from ideation through implementation.
  • Prepare high-level proposals, presentations, and institutional reports; cultivate strong working relationships with students, university units, external partners, vendors, and community organizations.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate new technologies, digital tools, and operational workflows to enhance student support and departmental efficiency.

Job description

Administrative Assistant II in the Strategy and Operations of Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) (Ref.: 537064)

to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal.

We are seeking a proactive, innovative, and results-driven candidate to join CEDARS. The appointee will play a key role in driving student development initiatives, leading signature university events, and building high-impact partnerships across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership & Event Management: Lead and empower a small administrative team to design, execute, and evaluate a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives and signature CEDARS events.
  • Programme & Collaboration Development: Conceptualize, launch, and manage new student engagement programmes and cross-sector collaborations from initial ideation through to implementation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting: Prepare high-level proposals, presentations, and institutional reports; cultivate strong working relationships with students, university administrative units, external partners, vendors, and community organizations.
  • Process Innovation: Identify opportunities to integrate new technologies, digital tools, and operational workflows to continuously enhance student support and departmental efficiency.
Qualifications And Requirements
Essential:
  • Education & Experience: A recognized University degree with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within the higher education sector, public, or quasi-public organizations, or international corporations.
  • Language Proficiency: Excellent written and spoken command of English and Chinese.
  • Digital Competence: High IT proficiency combined with practical AI competence and digital tool literacy.
  • Project & Team Leadership: Proven track record in project/event management and institutional advancement; demonstrated capability to lead a small team to deliver quality outcomes under pressure.
  • Core Skills: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and multi-tasking abilities with a proactive, innovative mindset.
Desirable / Advantageous
  • Experience in strategic partnership development and outreach.
  • Knowledge of or hands‑on experience with database management, design/media applications, and the implementation of digital solution tools.
