Job summary

A cultural district authority in Hong Kong is seeking a Financial Officer to support various financial activities, including monthly reporting, budgeting, and audits. The ideal candidate should have a degree in finance or accounting with around 3 years of relevant experience, preferably from a multinational organization. Proficiency in English and Chinese, along with good skills in financial applications like Excel, Oracle, and SAP, is essential. This is a fixed-term contract position lasting 12 months.

Qualifications

• Around 3 years of experience in finance, accounting or auditing, preferably in a multinational/large organisation.
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Proficiency in financial/applications, and computerized accounting systems (Excel/Oracle/SAP).
• Detail minded with good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reporting and schedules.
• Supporting the Finance Department operation in accounts payable.
• Supporting budget preparation and updating of forecasts.
• Preparing schedules for the annual audit.
• Revamping financial reporting.
• Performing other duties as directed.

Job description

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority welcomes exceptional talent with a passion to realise the vision and mission of making the West Kowloon Cultural District a prime local and international destination for arts, culture and entertainment.

(This is a fixed-term contract position of 12 months)

(Candidate with less experience can be considered for the post of Assistant Accounting Officer)

You will be responsible for:

• supporting the preparation of monthly financial reporting and schedules in a timely and insightful manner;
• supporting the Finance Department operation in accounts payable and providing general accounting support;
• supporting the budget preparation and the update of the forecast;
• supporting the annual audit by preparing various supporting schedules for the audited financial statements;
• supporting the financial reporting revamp;
• supporting other ad hoc duties when required; and
• performing any other duties from time to time as the Authority may reasonably direct.

You should:

• possess a recognised university degree in finance, accounting or equivalent;
• have around 3 years of experience in finance, accounting or auditing, preferably gained in a multinational/large organisation;
• preferably have good skills in using financial / accounting applications and computerised accounting systems (e.g. excel, Oracle, SAP etc.);
• be detail minded and have good interpersonal skills; and
• be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese.
