Vocational Training Council (VTC) in Hong Kong is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support accounting, auditing and clerical tasks. The role involves assisting in monthly statements and year-end exercises, drafting simple correspondence and handling enquiries.
The candidate should have strong bilingual abilities in English and Chinese, with relevant HK qualifications or progress toward accounting-related credentials.
(a) To carry out accounting, auditing and general clerical duties;
(b) To assist in preparing monthly financial statements, regular reports and year-end exercise;
(c) To draft simple correspondence; and
(d) To handle enquiries.
Requirements:
(a)
(i) Level 2 or above in 5 subjects, including English Language*, Chinese Language and Mathematics, in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination, or equivalent^; OR
(ii) Level 2 / Grade E or above in 5 subjects including English Language (Syllabus B)*, Chinese Language and Mathematics in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE); OR
(iii) Diploma of Applied Education + Maths Plus / Diploma Yi Jin + Maths Plus / Project Yi Jin; OR
(iv) A recognised Certificate / Diploma / Foundation Diploma / Foundation Certificate / Diploma of Foundation Studies; OR
(v) A recognised Associate Degree / Higher Diploma or above.
* Completion of Hong Kong Vocational English Programme (HKVEP) at Level 2 / Passing 5 specific VTC's Vocational English Module Certificates is considered an alternative qualification.
^ "Attained" in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in HKDSE Examination are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects.
(b) Preferably with a pass in LCCI accounting subjects or with comparable professional examination results or academic qualification in accounting field;
(c) Preferably with relevant work experience in accounting / audit related work;
(d) Proficiency in computer software applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, English and Chinese word processing;
(e) Detail-minded, customer-oriented, ability to work independently with initiative and be a good team player;
(f) Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills; and
(g) Good command of Chinese and English, preferably with knowledge of Putonghua.
Notes:
(1) The post is at the rank of "Executive Assistant II".
(2) Appointee(s) may be posted to any operational units to meet the Council's operational needs.
(3) Appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours.
(4) Fresh graduates will also be considered.
