Accountant / Assistant Accountant (Property Development

This is an Accountant or Assistant Accountant position within a property development and construction finance team. The role involves managing project costs, financial reporting, and accounting operations for development projects.

Key responsibilities

Accountant (Core Duties):

Monitor and analyze development project costs, construction expenditures, and budget variances

Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and cash flow forecasts for development projects

Assist in preparing loan drawdown documentation and monitoring bank facilities for construction projects

Assistant Accountant (Core Duties / Focus Areas for Less Experienced Candidates):

Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions specifically related to vendors, contractors, and consultants

Maintain accurate entries in the accounting system, including progress billings and retention monies

Perform regular bank reconciliations and verify supplier statements

Assist in checking intercompany balances and monthly schedules

Provide administrative support to the finance team during month-end closing

About you

Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

Accountant: Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within property development, construction, or real estate

Assistant Accountant: 3 years of general accounting experience. Fresh graduates with audit background and an interest in real estate are welcome to apply

Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel

Moderate proficiency in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with overseas colleagues

Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and able to meet tight project deadlines

Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage for the Accountant position
