A local authority in Wakefield is seeking a Planning Officer to manage a variety of planning applications. The role requires strong understanding of planning legislation, and excellent organizational and communication skills. The position offers a supportive working environment and development opportunities, including the chance to undertake a post-graduate qualification in Town & Country Planning.

Connaissances
Wakefield Council's Planning Services Development Management team is seeking a Planning Officer to deal with a range of planning applications within a diverse local authority area.
- Case-manage and determine a range of planning applications to deliver timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Provide constructive pre-application planning advice.
- Deal with planning appeals.
- Assist members of the public with general planning queries.
- Sound understanding of planning policy and legislation.
- Ability to demonstrate the necessary skills and knowledge to work in a challenging and busy environment.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
