A prominent healthcare organization in Whitley Bay seeks a Senior Pharmacy Technician to co-ordinate pharmacy activities and support patient care. The successful candidate will work closely with the Clinical Pharmacist and manage daily operations, ensuring efficient medicines management in a primary care setting. Applicants must have relevant qualifications and experience in pharmacy, excellent leadership skills, and a patient-oriented approach. A valid driving licence is essential for the role.
Senior Pharmacy Technician (Primary Care)

Working for NPC North Tyneside Neighbourhood practices, you will be working between 49 Marine Avenue, Park Parade, Nelson and Spring Terrace surgeries. The Senior Pharmacy Technician will co-ordinate the medicine hub activities to the extent necessary to ensure the development and maintenance of a high standard of patient care, sound teamwork and close co-operation with the clinical and managerial team.
The post holder will work under the management of the Clinical Pharmacy Service to deliver a comprehensive medicines management in a primary care setting to ensure a safe and efficient service is maintained, delivering a range of medicines management activities including medicines reconciliation and repeat prescription requests.
Pharmacy staff in all sectors and other healthcare professionals will ensure a patient orientated medicines management service is provided, conducting medicines reviews for patients. To work closely with the Clinical Pharmacist to adopt a team approach to medicines management. To work with the Clinical Pharmacist to develop and undertake medicines management audits, to support discussion within the practice and agree subsequent actions.

Northumbria Primary Care Ltd (NPC) is a pioneering partnership with local GPs and now manages several GP practices with around 130,000 registered patients in Northumberland and North Tyneside.
Whilst appointees will have a base practice within NPC, they may be asked to work at other practices across our group. We do however limit this as much as possible as we appreciate continuity is vital to effective primary care.
