What You'll Bring

You'll ideally have:

  • A degree in Chemistry (Environmental Chemistry, Geochemistry, Hydrochemistry), Geology (Earth Science, Environmental Earth Science), or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience working on mining or environmental projects (coal and/or metal mines), with a solid understanding of mine water chemistry and geochemistry.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and conducting environmental field monitoring and sampling programmes.

About The Role

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you'll make a meaningful contribution to mine water geochemistry and environmental remediation. Your work will be both independent and collaborative, with opportunities to lead, support, and innovate.

You'll be:

  • Providing expert geochemical input to support the strategic mine water programme led by the Mining Remediation Authority, as well as its day-to-day operations.
  • Working both independently and alongside experienced colleagues, applying your knowledge to deliver high-quality outcomes in mine water geochemistry.
  • Supporting and supervising contractors, ensuring the quality and consistency of mine water monitoring activities and scientific outputs.
  • Contributing to the implementation of new monitoring and data systems, working closely with our Senior Geochemist and our main contractor to embed robust processes.
