Job description

We are looking for a Neurodiversity Support Manager to join our Skills Academy. In this role you will ensure that those apprentices that have additional learning needs have effective and targeted support. You will work in partnership with the Skills Academy Manager, instructors and external stakeholders and ensure compliance with Skills Funding Agency contract and OFSTED requirements placed on the academy to support apprentices with varying educational needs.

Location - Reading / Basingstoke area

Package - £34400 - £39400 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Key accountabilities of the role
  • Support all apprentices across the full range of Specific learning needs including where appropriate diagnosis. This will include both in-academy and work placement
  • Ensure that regular reviews and support meetings take place and that sub-contractors provide appropriate and timely special provisions
  • To ensure funding is accessed where appropriate for SpLD support and apprentice data is accurate, robust and of high quality in relation to this
  • To support staff working with neuro-diverse learners; providing appropriate training, information and workplace resources
  • To maintain subject matter expert knowledge regarding SpLD and neurodiversity strategies and current best practice
  • Monitor and where applicable provide local documentation, policies and work instructions for neurodiversity in apprenticeships
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that apprentices are appropriately supported and documentation for SpLD related interactions are met
  • Line manage apprentices where this is appropriate and beneficial
We are looking for the Neurodiversity Support Manager to have:
  • A SENCO Qualification
  • Appropriate professional training qualification or equivalent
  • Appropriate assessment and/or verification qualifications
  • Experience of managing support for students with additional educational needs and a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities
  • Good levels of literacy and numeracy
  • Proven presentation skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal to be understood by a range of audiences, from new apprentices to senior management
  • Good influencing skills to ensure the appropriate learning opportunities and development of individuals
  • Personally well organised and able to work in an organised manner, coping with multiple tasks and able to deliver in the face of challenges
  • Expert coaching skills and ability to inspire confidence in others
  • Fluent in the development and use of metrics
As part of this role you must:
  • Undertake and pass a CRB check
  • Have the ability and affinity for working with a diverse range of people and grades across the business particularly young people
  • Have the ability to attend off-site events (e.g. meetings, conferences, residential courses, etc.) which may include short periods away from home including overnight stays
