Job summary
A prominent restaurant recruiter is looking for an experienced Head Chef for a recently refurbished Mexican cuisine restaurant in Streatham Hill. The role involves leading a kitchen brigade of four to five chefs, overseeing daily operations, and developing creative menus that reflect current culinary trends. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership experience in a high-paced kitchen and a passion for Mexican or Tex-Mex cuisine. This full-time position offers a salary between £36,000 to £39,000 per annum.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or accomplished Sous Chef.
- Experience in mixed grill; Mexican or Tex‑Mex cuisine.
- Strong leadership skills to manage a diverse team.
- Extensive knowledge of food production techniques and management.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability.
Responsibilities
- Lead a brigade of four to five chefs.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and food production.
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff.
- Develop and implement innovative menus.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Manage inventory and control food costs.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff.
- Assist in training new staff members.
