Job summary
A recruitment agency is looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join a dynamic procurement team in Derby. This hybrid role involves managing supplier relationships and delivering procurement strategies. Ideal candidates will have extensive procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and knowledge of ERP systems. Competitive salary of up to £55,000 plus bonus is offered.

SF recruitment are recruiting for a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Buyer to join a dynamic procurement team in a fast-paced, engineering-focused environment.
You’ll support the development and delivery of category strategies across key procurement areas. From managing supplier relationships to handling end-to-end procurement processes, you’ll help drive cost efficiencies, improve quality, and ensure strong commercial outcomes.
- Deliver procurement strategies aligned with business goals
- Manage full procurement lifecycle (RFP to supplier performance)
- Collaborate with internal teams on sourcing, warranties, and supplier issues
- Track and report supplier KPIs and escalate where neededSupport continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives
- Contribute to wider business planning and budgeting
- Extensive procurement experience, ideally in engineering
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems
- Commercially aware with strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational abilities
