Test Equipment Field Service Engineer
In this role, you will serve as the technical focal point for Test Equipment, ensuring prompt resolution of customer queries and driving continuous improvement in product performance. You will lead investigations into field failures, provide technical support, and perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Test Equipment at customer sites. This position involves extensive travel, both nationally and internationally, and requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Act as the first point of contact for technical queries related to Test Equipment, ensuring timely resolution and traceability using tracking systems.
- Lead data-driven investigations into reliability trends and field failures, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on Test Equipment at customer sites to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide technical support, training, and guidance to customers and internal teams, including mentoring less experienced engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex technical challenges and implement lessons learned into product design and processes.
- Create technical briefings, presentations, and documentation, including maintenance of fielded technical documents such as handbooks and GEMs.
- Monitor in-service performance of Test Equipment, identify problem areas, and recommend solutions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies during all service activities.
- Participate in technical and program reviews, acting as a presenter or reviewer.
- Hold a Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field, or possess equivalent experience in the aerospace industry.
- Have proven experience in field service engineering or product support roles.
- Demonstrate strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.
- Show the ability to work independently, exercise sound technical judgment, and resolve complex issues.
- Be willing to travel extensively, including internationally, with a valid passport and driver's license.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills for effective interfacing with customers, team members, and management.
- Exhibit leadership skills, including mentoring and motivating others to achieve results.
- Have experience with customer Test Equipment overhaul, repair, and continuous improvement practices.
- Be familiar with lean methodologies or process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a positive attitude, initiative, and enthusiasm for delivering high-quality solutions.
