As a Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Strategic Growth Office and a part of the Aumni Team, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical issues, thinking beyond routine approaches to build solutions or resolve problems.
- Structure software for clarity, testability, and ease of evolution.
- Write unit, component, integration, end-to-end, and performance tests.
- Investigate and fix issues promptly, ensuring they do not resurface.
- Own and deliver end-to-end, scalable, and secure solutions, leveraging cloud-native microservice architecture and modern technologies.
- Ensure zero-downtime releases for end-users.
- Optimize data read/write operations for system needs.
- Maintain system reliability and operability.
- Take initiative and adopt a pragmatic, iterative approach towards long-term goals.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification in Kotlin or Java, with proficient experience; willingness to learn Kotlin if experienced in Java.
- Experience designing and building scalable front-end solutions using TypeScript and React.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and frameworks like Spring Boot.
- Experience working on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with globally distributed applications requiring strict consistency.
- Knowledge of modern software architecture patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms like CircleCI.
- Experience with version control systems like GitHub.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and learn new technologies rapidly.
- Strategic thinking to select suitable technologies based on long-term goals.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Full-stack proficiency including TypeScript, React, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing solutions on cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
- Experience with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.
- Experience using Kafka.
- Experience with relational databases like Postgres and non-relational databases like DynamoDB.
