We are currently seeking a Full Stack Software Developer to join the development team. Initial compensation will be in the range £40,000-£150,000 per annum, plus bonus and stock options, depending on experience, with scope for rapid progression subject to performance. We are seeking someone with a strong commitment to the mission of enabling access to justice by connecting high net worth investors with meritorious claims. In our selection criteria, we place a premium on academic achievement.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role in London for a Full Stack Engineer, joining the development team, with exposure to other parts of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining both front-end and back-end components of a Next.js web application. Daily tasks will include interacting with the PostgreSQL database (via Supabase), building and integrating frontend and backend features, collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in code reviews, and ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs. An interest in implementing AI via APIs is desirable but not essential.

Prior work experience is not required for candidates who are highly ambitious and have a strong academic record (minimum 1st class honours or upper second-class degree, or equivalent, from a leading university). Strong mathematical ability is required, as the litigation finance investments being originated and structured are relatively complex.

Key Responsibilities of the Full Stack Engineer:

• Develop both frontend and backend components of a Next.js application.
• Work with PostgreSQL databases, using Supabase as the backend platform.
• Automate various business workflows and internal processes.
• Collaborate effectively within a team of developers.
• Participate in peer code reviews and testing to ensure code quality.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
• Back-End Web Development and Software Development skills.
• Front-End Development and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) skills.
• Experience in Full-Stack Development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of the legal industry is a plus.
• A minimum of 2 years of IT development experience is required.

• Analytical mindset with a great attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently under minimum supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Basic knowledge of finance and accounting; and ideally with CFA part of full qualification or equivalent.
• Interest in alternative finance and fintech.

Location: The office is based in Hammersmith (W6) London with in house gym and cafeteria.
