Job summary

Chester Zoo is seeking a Security Support Officer to patrol the 128-acre estate, ensuring safety for staff, visitors, and animals. You will work as part of a professional Security team, delivering proactive prevention and exceptional service during day and night shifts.

The role requires prior security experience, a calm, professional manner, and a full UK driving licence. A current SIA Door Supervisor licence is essential, with shifts from early morning to late evening.

Qualifications

• Essential: Previous security experience and outstanding customer service.
• Desirable: First Aid at Work qualification.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high security standards across the zoo and respond to emergencies.
• Greet guests, conduct searches, patrol grounds and manage access to events.
• Operate security systems to ensure they function properly.
• Identify and address security vulnerabilities with the security team.
