Job summary

Midlothian Council seeks a Youth Worker - Community Education to support young people and link school with local community. The role focuses on developing opportunities for learning, participation and intergenerational engagement beyond the traditional school setting.

Based at Beeslack Community High School, the post is permanent and part-time (20 hours per week) with salary scale within the local authority framework. PVG clearance will be required for regulated work with vulnerable groups.

Qualifications

• Essential SVQ3 level qualification in Youth Work or equivalent.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Permanent appointment; 20 hours per week; Beeslack Community High School.

Responsibilities

• Support young people and develop opportunities for engagement with the local community.
• Build relationships with pupils, families, school staff and partner organisations.
• Contribute to community development through learning and participation initiatives.
