Job summary

Principal Education is seeking Cover Supervisors to support Hillingdon secondary schools in appointing capable individuals to supervise classes when teachers are absent. The role suits youth workers, sports coaches, or behaviour mentors aiming to impact student learning in a busy school environment.

You will supervise students, deliver prepared activities, and help maintain a positive learning climate with a focus on safeguarding and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Flexible, reliable and adaptable to various classrooms.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials or activities provided by teaching staff.
• Support students with behavioural and learning needs to ensure inclusion.
• Be a positive role model and foster respect and teamwork in the classroom.
• Maintain accurate attendance and behaviour records.
• Communicate with staff and leadership about issues or successes.
