Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking an experienced Youth Worker to support students with Autism, learning difficulties, and SEMH needs in a Wolverhampton school. The role focuses on one-to-one support, building rapport, and guiding pupils under the teacher's direction.

The position runs 8:30–15:30, Monday to Friday, term time only, with school-based duties and safeguarding commitments in a SEND-friendly environment.

Qualifications

  • A relevant Level 3 Qualification such as Children and Young People's Workforce is desired but not required.
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check
  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and backgrounds
  • A non-judgmental and caring approach

Responsibilities

  • The Youth Worker will support young people with Special Educational Needs on a one-to-one basis.
  • Build rapport to encourage attendance and pupil progress.
  • Follow guidance of the teacher while knowing the student well enough to manage conflicts.
  • Work 8:30 - 15:30 Monday to Friday.
  • Term time only for the full academic year

About the role:
  • The Youth Worker will be supporting young people with Special educational need's on a one-to-one basis.
  • Building a strong rapport with the student to encourage them to attend and thrive in school
  • Following the guidance of the teacher but knowing the student well enough to deal with any conflicts
  • Working 8:30 - 15:30 Monday to Friday
  • Working term time only for the full academic year

  • Located in Wolverhampton
  • Caters to students with moderate needs, learning difficulties and Social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Easily accessible with parking and public transport links.
  • Supportive to staff, running weekly CPD training and team meetings.
About you:
  • A relevant Level 3 Qualification such as Children and Young People's Workforce, Sporting qualifications and more is desired but not required.
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check*
  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and backgrounds
