  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional development, using appropriate interventions and strategies
  • Assist in the delivery of personal, social, and emotional development programs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to create and implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) tailored to students' needs
  • Help students build social skills, confidence, and self-esteem through structured activities
  • Support the planning and delivery of enrichment activities and after-school programs
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and positive role modelling for students
  • Work with external professionals such as counsellors, social workers, and psychologists to ensure holistic support for students
  • Ensure a safe and respectful learning environment by managing student behaviour effectively
  • Support the safeguarding and welfare of all students in line with school policies
Essential Criteria
  • Experience working with young people, preferably within a school or SEMH setting
  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students
  • Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude
  • A proactive approach to supporting students and creating positive outcomes
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues and external agencies
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Desirable Criteria
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Youth Work, Social Care, Psychology, or similar)
  • Experience working with children with SEMH, autism, or other additional needs
  • Level 2 Team Teach certification or a willingness to undertake relevant training
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and interventions
Why Work With Us?
  • An opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with SEMH needs
