Job summary

Warrington Borough Council is seeking dedicated Youth Workers to support and empower young people through high-quality informal education and community programmes. The role involves daytime delivery, evenings and some weekends, on a fixed-term basis, with 37 hours per week.

Applicants with L3 JNC qualification or relevant experience will be considered, and clear spoken English is essential for engaging with young people and partners.

Qualifications

  • L3 JNC qualification or experience with youth work is required.
  • Ability to converse clearly in English and give guidance to young people.
  • Flexible role with daytime, evening and some weekend delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver youth work programmes in schools and community settings.
  • Provide support to young people and partner agencies to improve wellbeing.

Job description

This service enables young people to succeed by providing high quality informal education opportunities to promote their personal and social development. We offer support to schools, colleges, and other young people's providers within the community. We operate inside and outside of school times and can use resources such as our Mobile Youth Base to deliver programmes of work out in the wider Community and Schools. This is a challenging, but highly rewarding job, which will allow you to make a real difference to the lives of young people. This is a fixed term 37 hours a week position including daytime delivery, evenings and some weekends.

We have an opportunity for youth workers with a L3 JNC Qualification and / or those who have experience working and supporting young people without a youth work qualification to join us and make a tangible difference to at risk and vulnerable young people's lives., The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Our team along with other specialist services, provide support, information, and guidance to young people across the borough. Our service aim is to support young people to make sense of the world they live in, and to understand risks and the potential impact those risks have on their health and future outcomes.
