Job summary

Depaul UK is seeking a dedicated Youth Support Worker to help young people aged 18 to 25 who are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. You will work closely with each individual to plan next steps, build independent living skills, and provide practical and emotional support in a safe environment.

The role involves completing needs assessments, developing personalised support plans, and collaborating with partner agencies to promote wellbeing.

Qualifications

• You will have experience supporting young people or people who have experienced homelessness.
• You will understand some of the challenges associated with poor mental health and substance misuse, and know how to maintain professional boundaries while offering compassionate support.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key worker, building trusted relationships and providing practical and emotional support.
• Complete needs and risk assessments and develop support plans with clear, achievable goals.
• Help young people build independent living skills and access education, training, employment and volunteering.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns and work with partner agencies to support young people's wellbeing.
• Support residents moving into the service and encourage them to have a say in decisions that affect them.
