Job summary

Depaul UK in Warrington is seeking a Young People Support Worker to help homeless and vulnerable young people build brighter futures. You’ll provide one-to-one and group support in our accommodation and develop tailored support plans.

You’ll have safeguarding awareness, experience with at-risk youth, strong communication, and the ability to work flexibly including weekends. This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent role.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or those who have experienced homelessness.
• Understanding of needs of people who have experienced homelessness and related issues.
• Knowledge of risk assessments and support planning.
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and equality.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and wellbeing of clients at all times and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Maintain high quality risk and needs assessments and SMART outcome plans.
• Provide one-to-one and group support within accommodation to increase resilience.
• Lead partnerships with local agencies to support client wellbeing.
• Engage flexibly, reflectively, and personalize support.
• Involve clients in decisions and encourage participation in Depaul’s community programme.
• Support access to Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities.
• Participate in a rota including unsocial hours and weekend work.
• Prepare accommodation for new clients and assist settling in.
• Support volunteers who contribute to the work.
• Ensure accurate collection and recording of rent, charges and petty cash.
