Job summary

Depaul UK is seeking a resilient and compassionate Young People Support Worker to help homeless young people move towards independence. You will manage a caseload, develop personalised plans, and build trusting relationships to support prevention and pre-tenancy outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience of completing risk assessments and support plans.
• Clear understanding of safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to engage young people creatively and sustain relationships.
• Confident working independently and handling challenging situations.
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• Strong professional boundaries and integrity.
• Collaborative approach to partnership working.
• Flexible and responsive to service needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload and deliver tailored, outcome-focused support.
• Complete risk assessments and develop effective support plans.
• Provide homelessness prevention and pre-tenancy support.
• Deliver drop-in and planned sessions at the community hub and other local venues.
• Support access to education, training, employment and volunteering.
• Coordinate with statutory services and partner agencies.
• Maintain safeguarding, boundaries and accurate records.
• Perform health and safety checks and report concerns.
• Supervise volunteers contributing to the service.
• Respond calmly to lone-working and challenging situations.
