Job summary

The Youth Association in Yorkshire invites applications for a Youth Support Worker to help deliver youth work across South and West Yorkshire, including Wakefield and project work in Barnsley and Leeds. Qualifications

• Interest in youth work and helping young people reach their potential.
• Experience with young people is helpful but not essential.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and follow safeguarding policies.
• Willingness to undertake a JNC-recognised Level 3 Youth Work qualification alongside the role.
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inclusive youth work sessions.
• Work with young people in schools, community venues and detached settings.
• Contribute ideas to activity planning and environment safety.
• Build positive relationships and act as a role model.
• Encourage young people to share views and participate in decisions.
• Support session evaluation via feedback and notes.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partner organisations.
