Job summary

Orwell Housing Association is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for our Young People’s Supported Housing Service in Ipswich. You will help homeless or at-risk young people build confidence, skills and independence using a person-centred approach, developing personalised plans focused on education, employment and wellbeing.

You will advocate for residents, liaise with partners, and contribute to creating safe environments where young people can thrive and move toward greater independence.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and empathetic approach to support.
• Experience in professional, voluntary or customer-facing environments is valued.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with young people and families.

Responsibilities

• Support young people to develop confidence, skills and independence.
• Develop personalised support plans focused on education, training, employment, healthcare or community opportunities.
• Advocate for young people, ensuring their voices are heard in the services they receive.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partner organisations to create safe, supportive environments.
