Job summary

Essex County Council is recruiting for a Restorative Justice Practitioner in Chelmsford. The role is permanent and full-time, delivering restorative justice interventions for young people and victims within the Essex Youth Justice Service.

You will conduct victim-offender conferences, provide victim support, and work with partners to reduce reoffending. The post requires GCSE level education (RQF2) or equivalent, registration as a practitioner or willingness to obtain it, and a strong grasp of

Qualifications

• Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent by experience.
• Holds Registered Practitioner status or is willing to work towards it.
• Evidence a sound knowledge of Restorative Justice and its application within a justice environment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and deliver Restorative Justice interventions with young people and victims, ensuring adherence to the Victim Code of Conduct.
• Provide statutory Victim Contact to seek victims' views and facilitate interventions.
• Organise and deliver direct victim/offender conferences in community or custodial settings.
