Job summary

Young Foundations Limited seeks a Sessional Residential Support Worker to champion the needs of each child and young person, delivering compassionate, responsive support within a caring home environment.

You will collaborate with families, social workers, and agencies to ensure positive outcomes while upholding safeguarding and educational plans, always prioritising safety and dignity in your daily practice.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable children or young people, in residential, education, or community settings.
• A solid understanding of the developmental journey of young people across physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and educational needs.
• Collaborative team player with empathy, sensitivity, and motivation to work with colleagues for best outcomes.
• Self-motivated with ability to inspire others and meet timeframes, goals, and high-quality performance.
• Emotional resilience and ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism and compassion.
• Solid safeguarding and child protection understanding and procedures.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to changing needs and situations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with young people and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Champion the individual needs of every child and young person, bringing care plans to life.
• Build strong partnerships with young people, families, social workers, and key agencies.
• Deliver high-quality care meeting legislative and best-practice standards.
• Prioritise safety, wellbeing and dignity of young people at all times.
• Shape and review care, health and education plans, attend planning meetings.
• Stay up-to-date on safeguarding responsibilities and relevant legislation.
• Create a warm, welcoming environment that supports positive social care practice.
