Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker to help young people aged 8 to 18 in a Witney residential service. You will support their social, emotional and behavioural development in a safe, caring environment and work closely with the care team.

The role requires a full UK manual driving licence, a willingness to commute to Witney, and the ability to work with emotive behaviours. Training and progression opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Experience with children and young people is desirable but not required.
• Experience in healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
• A full UK manual driving licence is required.
• Applicants must be over 21 and able to commute to Witney.

Responsibilities

• Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility.
• Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
• Deal with challenging behaviours safely and effectively.
• Protect children and young people from health and welfare risks.
• Support independence and overall well‑being of the young people.
• Ensure safety by following care plans, guidelines, and rewards.
• Support young people with challenging behaviours with empathy and safety.
• Build positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers and professionals.
