Job summary

Key Unlocking Futures, part of Progress Housing Group, is seeking a compassionate Healthy Relationships Support Worker to help children and young people build safer futures. You’ll work across schools, Pupil Referral Units and specialist schools delivering an educational programme on healthy relationships and safeguarding in Lancashire.

Term-time only, 27 hours per week during school hours, permanent part-time with DBS required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children and young people.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in various settings.
  • Knowledge of issues facing vulnerable young people and children with SEND.
  • Ability to develop appropriate, supportive relationships with children and young people.
  • Understanding of childhood trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
  • Access to a car for work-related journeys.
  • Experience delivering educational programmes to children and young people.
  • Experience working in a school setting.
  • Experience of partnership or multi-agency working.
  • Knowledge of assets or strengths-based approaches.
  • Good knowledge of legislation relevant to children and young people.
  • Up to date knowledge of local, regional and national domestic abuse issues.

Responsibilities

  • Organising and facilitating group work programmes for children and young people.
  • Co-delivering educational materials about healthy relationships and the impact of domestic abuse.
  • Assessing needs in relation to safeguarding, risk and safety planning, wellbeing, education, and social and family networks.
  • Empowering children and young people to make informed decisions and take control of their own lives.
  • Building trusted, supportive relationships with children and young people of different ages.
  • Working in partnership with schools, social care, police and other agencies to support safeguarding.
  • Keeping accurate written and electronic records and contributing to reporting for funding agencies.
