Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is recruiting a Youth Progression Adviser to help young people aged 15–18 who are NEET or at risk of NEET to engage with education, training or employment. The role involves one-to-one support, barrier assessment and co-design of tailored progression plans.

You will work with schools and partners across East Cambridgeshire and beyond, maintaining records and contributing to service targets. Interviews are scheduled in November.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with barriers to participation.
• Understanding of education, employment and training pathways.
• Evidence of effective partnership working across agencies.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation.
• Familiarity with Jobcentre Plus, DWP processes and young people’s benefits.
• Ability to produce accurate case records and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised one-to-one support to young people aged 15–18 who are NEET or at risk of NEET.
• Assess needs, identify barriers and co-design tailored support plans.
• Deliver information and advice to help re-engage with learning, employment or training.
• Collaborate with schools, colleges, training providers and employers to support progression.
• Maintain accurate case records in line with service processes.
• Contribute to delivery of key performance indicators.
