An established community church in Redditch seeks a passionate individual to lead youth ministry and foster discipleship. This role offers the chance to engage with young people through teaching, prayer, and community service, while building teams of leaders dedicated to evangelism. As part of a renewal church, you will play a vital role in nurturing faith and making a courageous witness in the community. With a focus on collaboration and outreach, this position is perfect for someone eager to make a meaningful impact in their local area. Join us in this exciting journey of faith and renewal!
St Stephen's Redditch, located in Redditch, England, is a historic town centre church currently undergoing renewal. The church has embarked on a new chapter in 2024, driven by fresh vision, strategy, and resources to proclaim the gospel with renewed vibrancy. It is part of the New Wine network and aligns with the Charismatic evangelical tradition within the Church of England, under the Diocese of Worcester.
The church's renewed vision focuses on four key areas: worship, faith, community, and witness. The goal is to nurture discipleship, equip members, and empower them to make disciples locally. Funding from the Church Commissioners supports building redevelopment and staff roles to realize this vision. The ministry leadership team will serve the church by modeling discipleship, casting vision, building teams, raising leaders, and gifting the church in prophecy, evangelism, teaching, pastoral care, and apostolic witness. Additionally, St Stephen’s collaborates with the Redditch Mission Area and local churches for gospel partnership.
This key role aims to grow a church committed to courageous witness, nurturing faith, and fostering discipleship. It will focus on engaging young people through teaching, prayer, relationship-building, and fun activities. The role involves loving and serving the community, initiating evangelistic efforts, and collaborating with local organizations, churches, schools, and colleges. Building teams of passionate leaders for youth ministry, fostering evangelism, and developing a vision and strategy for youth outreach are central responsibilities.
Initially, the role's specifics will develop organically over the first six months, with tasks likely including planning youth programs, midweek activities, evangelistic and discipleship events, parental engagement, volunteer training, and strategic planning for youth ministry. Opportunities for participation in town-wide youth evangelism and outreach through the Churches Together network are also anticipated.
