Job description

Are you passionate about nurturing the mental health and well-being of children and young people?

Do you have a valid driver's license and experience in supporting individuals who face challenges in forming social and emotional connections?

In recent years there is a massive focus on supporting the mental health of pupils who have been impacted by adverse childhood experiences. We are currently seeking practitioners to support these SEMH pupils on a 1:1 basis in group of schools in the St George and Kingswood areas of Bristol.

As a Youth Outreach Support Worker, I am involved in not only supporting pupils within the educational setting but also running activities with the pupils outside the classroom. The school takes them out into the community for outreach and various activities, ensuring they gain real-world experiences and connect with their surroundings. Mileage is covered for these journeys. Alongside other mentors and teachers, you will also be provided with support to ensure that the right assistance is in place for the students.

This position is on a full-time basis and full support and guidance will be given. There will also be opportunities to complete additional training whilst in the role. The hours are 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday. The pay rate is £100.00 per day.

**It is essential that you can drive, have access to your own vehicle and have business insurance on your car for this role as you will be required to collect and drop of the student to their home every day. Mileage will be paid**

This would be a great opportunity for someone who has experience supporting pupils in a school or an alternative setting. We will also be considering people who haven't previously worked in a school setting but have experience of supporting children with SEMH or children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Additionally, we welcome individuals from similar backgrounds who understand where the children have come from and can help guide them towards making positive choices.
