Job summary

Compass is recruiting a Mental Health Practitioner to work in the Derbyshire Early Intervention and Targeted Support Service. You will provide early mental health support to children and young people with mild to moderate difficulties across Derbyshire county.

You'll manage your own caseload, conduct assessments and deliver structured, evidence-based interventions, helping young people cope, build confidence and plan for the future.

Qualifications

• Core professional or clinical qualification, such as EMHP, CWP or PMHW, with professional registration as appropriate.
• Experience working therapeutically with children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs.
• Experience delivering evidence based psychological interventions for anxiety and low mood.
• Experience supporting children, young people and families to build confidence in managing mental health and wellbeing.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, capacity and consent, including Gillick competence.
• Ability to recognise and manage risk appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Hold your own caseload, completing assessments and delivering structured, evidence based therapeutic interventions.
• Provide supervision to Emotional Wellbeing Practitioners and share experience for safe practice.
• Work with families, schools and other professionals, offering advice and consultation.
• Help people navigate the available support across Derbyshire county.
• Collaborate to ensure high-quality, timely mental health support for young people.
